Throughout the Bible, God shows special concern for the widows and emphasizes the importance of caring for them. ServingHIM missionaries travel to impoverished areas of the world, where widows often find it difficult to secure shelter and proper sanitation facilties, as well as provide for their families. Widows are invited to share in a formal dinner, where they are served, treated with dignity, and sent home with gifts and food baskets.
