2021 ANNUAL CELEBRATION DINNER

Dear ServingHIM Family,

We have continued to monitor the COVID-19 case numbers in the North Texas region closely over the past several weeks. Active cases have risen by 20% in the past week, and COVID deaths are up 51% compared to a week ago. 1710 of 1789 ICU beds were occupied in the 13 county North Texas region this past weekend.  Unfortunately, these hospital admissions and deaths largely involve younger unvaccinated individuals.

The current Delta variant has proven to be 4 times more contagious than prior strains, making it difficult for unvaccinated folks to avoid this virus.  We have begun to see some waning of immunity amongst vaccinated folks in the past few weeks leading to some breakthrough cases. The good news is that vaccinated individuals rarely develop a severe illness or require hospitalization.  All of us (vaccinated or unvaccinated) can still spread the virus unknowingly.  Because of the current increased viral activity in our community, additional protections such as masking and distancing are needed to slow the progression of viral spread. 

In light of these current conditions, and an unclear timeline of a return to lower viral activity, we are saddened to announce that the 2021 ServingHIM Celebration Dinner has been canceled. This decision was made after much thought and prayer, and out of an abundance of caution to protect the health of each that would be in attendance. Ministry continues in the countries with whom we partner. We will be sending you an update on those ministries so you can see how your donations are being used.

2022 will mark ServingHIM’s 25th anniversary, and we look forward to all being able to gather together next year to celebrate God’s extraordinary faithfulness to this ministry! Our Celebration Banquet is being planned for Thursday, October 6, 2022. We hope you will be able to join us.
